Design Solution for Trading Desk Requirement in Tokyo

Responsible for full project initiation through to solution design for a new trading desk requirement in Tokyo covering the financial products of equities, fixed income and credit derivatives. This involved reviewing and designing all the banking processes, functional and system requirements to accommodate “straight through (STP) ” i.e. front to back processing capability in Tokyo and on a global basis for this large financial institution.

All issues concerning availability of systems, end of day processing, market data population, settlement methods, systems interfacing, risk and accounting methodologies and reporting were documented in architectural blue prints and transition architectures covering both As-Is and To-Be profiles.

A product vendor trading system was to be acquired and utilised the chosen software being Sophis and Rolphe & Nolan for back office processing.
